“Fantastic & thoroughly engaging trip for our P3/4s on Monday. We learned so much. Really well thought out, lively and well pitched. Your enthusiasm and sense of humour were contagious! I would thoroughly recommend!”

Any extra information you can give us, in this email or in latter correspondence, really helps.  It's really useful to know if there are any specific stories/events/people you'd like us to cover, whether you have any children with specific mobility requirements and whether you plan on returning directly to school, or if you have another workshop/activity planned for your class in the Old Town.

Thank you for getting in touch with us. We will reply within 24 hours. Please check your email spam in-box if you haven't received an email from us.

Useful things to talk about

This is your tour, for your class, but there are some typical things which we'd really like to talk about before your tour.  Here's a quick breakdown;

- When you'd like your tour to take place.

- Your class size.

Please note that we're unable to take more than 36 people around Greyfriars Kirkyard.   This part of our

agreement as members of the City of Edinburgh Cemetry Tour Guide Operator Scheme.  This might mean  that classes with 33 pupils have a helper parent/guardian/support worker wait at the Kirkyard gates for the first twenty minutes.  We do apologise, but this is not within our control.

- Any specific mobility requirements.

The Old Town has some quite steep gradients.  There is one set of steps on most of our tours.  We can provide alternative routes for your tour so that everyone can experience the tour.  We can discuss the options with you.

- Whether you have anything else planned for your class in the Old Town on the day of your tour.

We can point you in the direction of some workshop providers.  We can also recommend a teacher-led tour of the Museum of Scotland.   We're happy to work our tour times around any workshops you may have planned at Edinburgh Castle, Riddle's Court or the Museum of Scotland.

- Any specific content you'd like us to cover.

We know that many topics are based on pupil devised questions and we're happy to alter our tour so that we cover the things you've looked at in class, or hope to look at.  We've provided a detailed itinerary for this tour, but we are happy to alter this to suit your project.

- Whether you are travelling by public, or private, transport.

We will be there for your tour, unless the weather is really dangerous.   If you're coming by private transport you will know that we will be there to lead your tour.  If you are traveling by public transport, and therefore have more flexibility, we are able to reschedule your tour.  Really wet, or snowy, days aren't much fun for young learners.  If you contact us by 8.20 at the very latest on the morning of your tour, we can reschedule.  There is no additional fee for this.
